The New Ulm BMX Park is closed until further notice after another incident of vandalism at the track. The park’s concession stand was broken into Saturday night. The persons involved in the crime gained access to the building by destroying an air conditioning unit. The interior contents of the stand were reportedly then strewn about, and several hundred dollars worth of candy and pop were stolen. The total cost of damages is being estimated at $1,200, but this comes after the BMX park’s storage shed was previously broken into four weeks ago. In that incident, bike gear was stolen and several trophies as well as the shed’s door were destroyed. Damage in that incident totaled more than $800. The break-ins are under investigation by the New Ulm Police Department, and no date has been set for re-opening the park.
