A Minnesota man has been arrested for the theft of several hundred feeder pigs from pork producers in Mitchell County in northern Iowa. John Arndt of Hayfield was taken into custody on Tuesday. He faces several charges, including criminal conduct and first-degree theft, and is being held on a $47,000 bond in the Mower County Jail pending extradition to Iowa. The pigs were reportedly stolen over the course of nearly a year beginning last November and were sold at livestock auctions. More arrests are expected as well. Arndt has not been connected to the recent theft of hundreds of pigs from a farm in rural Lafayette at this time.
