The New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring another Hot Topics Breakfast this Friday, and the topic this time is the upcoming levy referendum vote for New Ulm’s District 88 Schools. Superintendent Harold Remme will be on hand during the Friday event, which starts at 7:30am at the New Ulm Country Club, to discuss the benefits and impact of passing the proposed $725 per-pupil levy. Remme says that District 88 residents will also be receiving information on the referendum in the mail. A public informational meeting on the proposed levy will be Monday, October 17th at 7pm at the District Administrative Center. The polling places for the November 8th vote will include the DAC in New Ulm, the Hanska Community Center, and the Lafayette Charter School. Polls will be open from 7am to 8pm. Members of the public wanting to attend the Hot Topic Breakfast discussing the levy this Friday need to RSVP to the New Ulm Chamber of Commerce by Noon on Wednesday.
