A total of 5 firefighters from Green Isle were injured Sunday morning when their fire truck left the road and rolled in rural Sibley County. It happened at about 8:40am at the intersection of Sibley County Road 27 and Jessenland Road around 5 miles east of Arlington. The Green Isle Fire Department was assisting the Henderson Fire Department when the pump truck reportedly lost it’s brakes. The driver, 38-year-old Danny Kroells of Green Isle attempted to make a right turn onto Jessenland Road and the truck left the road and rolled into the ditch. Kroells and his 4 passengers were all treated at area hospitals and have since been released. The fire truck took severe damage.
