The GFW School District today (TUE) holds the first in a series of public meetings concerning an upcoming levy referendum vote. GFW is asking voters to basically extend and increase it’s current operating referendum this Election Day. The question put before GFW voters on November 8th will be to revoke the district’s current referendum of $468 per-pupil which expires in 2013 and approve a new 10-year referendum of $870 per-pupil in it’s place. This would bring GFW in line with the state average for operating levies. The first of 4 public meetings on the issue begins at 7pm today at GFW Elementary School in Gibbon. The second meeting will be held at 7pm on Thursday at the middle school campus in Fairfax.
