The jury selection was completed Tuesday in the trial of a former rural Gibbon pastor accused of sexually touching a 16-year-old Spanish foreign exchange student, and the opening arguments in the trial get underway today (WED). 52-year-old David Radtke faces 2 counts of 3rd-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct for allegedly touching the girl inappropriately while giving her a massage in his home this past May. At the time Radtke admitted the touching was a “lack of judgment.” He is also facing felony charges of stalking and intercepting electronic communications for allegedly accessing the victim’s email and forwarding messages to himself in an attempt to discredit her. The former pastor of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church north of Gibbon is now living in Shawnee, Kansas. His Sibley County jury will consist of 10 women and 4 men. A total of 8 potential jurors were dismissed on Tuesday. The victim has returned to Minnesota from Spain as well, and will testify during the trial.
