A Sleepy Eye woman faces multiple felony charges for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars from her vulnerable adult daughter. 48-year-old Ann M. LaCourse was charged with four counts of financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult and four counts of felony theft in Brown County Court on Thursday. She is accused of redirecting her daughter’s direct deposits into her own bank account while the girl was living in Willmar. The crime was reported by the victim’s foster parent. Sleepy Eye police then learned that over $7,600 of the victim’s paychecks had been redirected into LaCourse’s account. LaCourse later admitted to using the money to pay off loans and towards her other daughter’s utility bills. She is scheduled to be back in court for the crime on November 8th.
