Minnesota is number 8 of states where a driver is most likely to collide with a deer. The rankings show the odds of a vehicle hitting a deer in Minnesota are 1 in 96. West Virginia tops the list and Iowa is number two. The report says deer-vehicle collisions in the US have declined 7% but crashes are up 4% in Minnesota from last year. Deer-vehicle encounters are most likely in November, the peak of the deer migration and mating season. October is the second-most likely month for a deer-vehicle crash as the animals move around during fall harvest.
