A Chaska man is dead after his car was struck by a train in Sherburne County Tuesday afternoon. 65-year-old Dennis McKeever was pronounced dead at the scene after the Burlington-Northern-Santa-Fe train hit his Ford at a railroad crossing on Sherburne County Road 52 near Becker. Witnesses reported seeing McKeever approach the rail crossing and steer around the lowered signal arms, directly into the path of the oncoming train. He was alone in his vehicle. A propane gas line was severed in the crash but the leak was quickly shut off. The accident happened at around 12:30pm Tuesday. No other injuries were reported.
