Two men and a woman are in custody in connection with a “takeover style” bank robbery in Champlin, in which the robbers used a handgun and ordered bank employees and customers to the floor. The FBI says that the First Minnesota Bank in Champlin was robbed by two black men around 10am Wednesday. After grabbing cash, the men fled in a blue sport utility vehicle. A short time later, a burning vehicle was found in Brooklyn Park. Authorities believe it was the same one used in the robbery. Champlin police later arrested the suspects. Authorities are now looking at other bank robberies that were “eerily similar” in nature to see whether there is a connection.
