Cedar Mt Students Help Sick Kids 03 Oct 11

The students of Cedar Mountain Elementary School in Franklin have succeeded in collecting over a million pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. The students have filled a phone booth with the pop tabs, a feat that takes approximately 1.3 million of the tabs to accomplish. That’s about a thousand pounds worth, and the recycling money from the tabs benefits the Ronald McDonald House, which gives the families of sick kids a place to stay during extended hospitalizations. This was the third phone booth that Cedar Mountain kids have filled with the pop tabs over the course of several years. Ronald McDonald himself was even on hand to help the kids celebrate the milestone of their latest full phone booth. Now they will start over and fill it up again.
