The 7th annual All Angels Remembrance Ceremony is taking place Saturday evening in New Ulm. The ceremony commemorates National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, and takes place at 5 p-m in German Park. Nearly 400 babies die every year in Minnesota, a loss that has a profound impact on families and communities. President Ronald Reagan declared October to be National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month in 1988, and all 50 states now commemorate the Remembrance Day on October 15th with proclamations and special ceremonies. During the service in New Ulm Saturday, those attending will have the opportunity to share with others the memories of their lost loved ones, and a special “Book Of Life” will be available to add their angel’s information into. Attendees should bring a special candle to light in honor of their loved ones also, and balloons will be released following a brief reading. This year’s ceremony will be dedicated to the memory of the children lost in the Bohemian Bed and Breakfast fire in New Ulm this summer as well. Everyone is welcome to attend.
