Notorious bank robbers will be captured near Madelia on Saturday. The 15th annual Younger Brothers Capture Celebration begins with the Oscar Sorbel Breakfast at the Madelia VFW from 8 to 10am Saturday, followed by the presentation of the annual Oscar Sorbel Hometown Hero award. There will be a petting zoo and horse rides available throughout the day, and at High Noon the Farmers State Bank in downtown Madelia will be robbed. A gunfight and the capture of the robbers then takes place at 2:30 seven miles west of Madelia at the Historical Capture Monument. The “World’s Largest Rifle,” a 36-foot Winchester, will be fired after the capture as well. The Magnificent Seven Posse will arrive back in Madelia with the captured Younger Brothers at 3:45, and there will then be a Steak Fry at the Madelia Legion from 5 to 8, followed by live music at 8:30.
