Sleepy Eye 36 CMC 16

1st Quarter was scoreless Sleepy Eye scored early in the 2nd.
5 yd TD pass from sophomore Brandon Polesky to Mickey Medrano PAT attempt was blocked. (quarter 2)
On the ensuing kickoff CMC ran it back for a TD 85 yds and also completed the 2pt attempt to make the score 8-6 CMC

Sleepy Eye scored on a 23 yd TD pass from Polesky to Tyler Hadley who made a great leaping grab 2 pt conversion Polesky run was good making the score 14-8 at halftime.

2nd half was dominated by Sleepy Eye:
Tyler Hadley scored on a 40 yd TD halfback pass from Marc Gemmill, Hadley was on the receiving end of 2 pt conversion pass from Polesky making the score 22-8.

(3rd quarter)

4th quarter TD runs of 18 yards and 40 yards by Nate McMullen, Sleepy Eye converted on one conversion a Polesky pass to Mickey Medrano.
CMC scored a late TD vs. the Sleepy Eye reserves.

Marc Gemmill had 20 carries for 110 yds
Nathan McMullen had 17 carries for 134 yds and 2 TD’s
Tyler Hadley caught 3 passes for 66 yds 2 TD’s and 1 2 pt conversion
Mickey Medrano caught 2 passes for 8 yds and 1 TD and 1 2 pt conversion
Brandon Polesky completed 4 passes for 34 yds, 2 TD’s and 2 extra pts
Jake Trebesch had 2 solos, 4 assists, 1 sack and 1 fumble recovery
Nathan McMullen had 1` solo 5 assists and 1 fumble recovery
Marc Gemmill had 3 solos 7 assists and 1 QB sack
Mickey Medrano had 3 solos and 3 assists also 1 INT

Nice to get a win the first game of the season, we started out slow but we were able to wear them down a bit in the second half. I was very pleased by the play of our offensive line opening holes that resulted in 2 ball carriers with over 100 yds rushing. Our starting defense did a nice job as well not allowing a TD.
