An 11-day manhunt that extended across Renville, McLeod, Meeker and Kandiyohi Counties came to an end early Sunday morning when authorities apprehended 37-year-old Matthew James Wrobleski of Willmar. Wrobleski is a suspect in more than two dozen motor vehicle thefts, burglaries and other incidents across the area in recent weeks. His arrest came shortly after a pickup truck was reported stolen in rural Kingston at around 12:30am Sunday. Wrobleski was then spotted driving the stolen truck on Highway 15. When authorities attempted to stop him, he drove into a swamp and fled on foot. He was found by a Wright County K9 unit hiding in the swamp about 50 yards from where he had left the stolen truck. Wrobleski sustained minor injuries from the police dog and was treated in Hutchinson before being transported to the Meeker County Jail. He faces charges of motor vehicle theft, fleeing in a motor vehicle, fleeing on foot and obstructing the legal process by force. He also faces charges in Renville and Redwood counties.
