Postal worker rallies today 27 Sep 11

Postal workers around the state are set to stage rallies this afternoon as postal centers are poised to close and jobs cut. The demonstrations come as Congress looks to close thousands of post offices that would leave more than 100,000 workers without jobs. With more use of e-mail and increased competition from other mail services, the U.S Postal Service has been operating on a multi-million-dollar deficit. Today’s rallies are scheduled in Mankato, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Waite Park, Woodbury, Burnsville, Eden Prairie, Duluth and Detroit Lakes.
