A rural Lake Crystal woman accused of murdering her husband is scheduled to appear in court today (TUE). Jennifer Nibbe is facing 1st-degree murder charges for the August 2010 shooting of her husband inside their home. In court today her attorney is expected to argue for several motions filed in late August. The judge will be asked to suppress Nibbe’s statements to police during the initial investigation because they failed to give her a Miranda warning and interviewed her without counsel. She was reportedly asked “incriminating” questions, and her attorney has asked that the charges against her be dismissed. The judge will also be asked to review James Nibbe’s medical records after his autopsy revealed he was positive for HIV and Hepatitis B. Nibbe’s attorney has asked that any possible third-party relationship her husband was involved in be a part of her defense.
