Residents in far northern Minnesota got a brisk reminder this past weekend that summer is coming to an end. The National Weather Service in Duluth reported a number of below-freezing temperatures Sunday night into Monday morning, including a low of 28 degrees in Crane Lake. A frost advisory had been in effect Sunday night for areas in the Iron Range and northward. In New Ulm, the mercury unofficially dropped into the high 30′s Monday morning, with an official low of 43 both Sunday and Monday nights.
