A Fairmont woman has been sentenced to a year in jail for sharing her painkillers with a friend who then died of an overdose. 33-year-old Tamara Lynn Hill pleaded guilty last month to third-degree murder in the death of 39-year-old Thomas Anderson of Fairmont, who she allowed to use some of her Fentanyl pain patches. He was found dead October 12th. Hill reportedly sobbed through most of her sentencing Monday. In addition to the jail time she must also spend 25 years on probation, and if she commits any violations, she could have to serve over seven years in prison. As he handed down the sentence, Judge Robert Walker said the public needs to hear that misused prescription drugs kill more people and ruin more lives than drugs sold on the street.
