A Fairmont man accused of raping a teenage girl last December was released from jail Thursday, the day his trial had been scheduled to begin. 45-year-old Troy Leroy Dykes is a level 3 predatory offender who had been scheduled to face trial for 3rd and 4th-degree criminal sexual conduct charges for allegedly sexually assaulting the girl in Fairmont while helping her and her mother move. He was released from jail on Thursday and his trial was postponed because DNA testing from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is reportedly incomplete. Recent interviews had apparently raised credibility issues in regard to the case as well, and are being investigated. Dykes current address now lists him as homeless in the area of Highway 15, south of Interstate 90. His trial has yet to be rescheduled, but a pre-trial hearing will be held November 14th.
