A 16-year-old boy was injured Wednesday afternoon after falling off a cliff next to the Le Sueuer River in Blue Earth County’s South Bend Township. Mitch Roberts was in his backyard just south of the Red Jacket Trail trestle bridge when he fell 20 feet and landed on the rocks below. He was able to use his cell phone to call for help. Rescue crews responded to the scene at around 2:30 Wednesday afternoon, and used a kayak to float Roberts down the river to a nearby parking lot where he was taken to a hospital by ambulance. Officials say Roberts was bleeding from his head when they found him. His current condition is not available.
