New Hermann Displays 24 Aug 11

A ribbon-cutting ceremony and public open house was held at New Ulm’s Hermann Monument on Tuesday to unveil several new exhibits in the monument’s interpretive center. During the ceremony, Hermann Monument Society President Denny Warta thanked those who have cared for the monument for over a hundred years. New informative panels as well as photos, artifacts, and a video tour tell the story of Hermann the German and the monument erected in his honor. Also new is a 97-piece sequential diorama depicting the battle between Hermann’s forces and the Romans in the year 9 AD. The Hermann Monument is owned and operated by the City of New Ulm, under the direction of the New Ulm Park and Rec Department. You can learn more by visiting HermanMonument.Com
