The autopsy of a Pelican Rapids man found dead in a Mankato hotel pool last month is complete.
71-year-old Dewayne George Ludwig was found underwater in the pool at the Mankato Fairfield Inn on July 17th. CPR was being performed on Ludwig when first responders arrived at the hotel, but attempts to revive him failed.
Foul play was never suspected and there were no signs of trauma, and an autopsy was conducted to rule out natural causes. It determined that Ludwig died from accidental drowning.
Toxicology results did show signs of alcohol consumption, but investigators have not said if that contributed to the drowning.
