A semi-truck driver from the local area was killed in a multi-vehicle pile-up near Chicago Wednesday night. Nicollet native 51-year-old Richard “Spanky” Stolt of Cleveland apparently rear-ended another semi on Highway 41 in the Chicago neighborhood of Highland Park at about 10:30pm. Four cars were involved in the crash as well. Stolt was a driver for KDB Trucking of New Ulm, and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other truck driver and the driver of one of the cars were hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries and have since been released. The drivers of the other three vehicles were not hurt. Stolt’s funeral arrangements are pending with the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.
