The New Ulm KFC-Taco Bell took extensive damage during a fire early Sunday morning. Around 25 firefighters responded to the fire in the fast food restaurant’s kitchen at just before 7am Sunday. They had the fire under control within an hour. The building was unoccupied at the time, and no one was injured. The kitchen area received fire and smoke damage, and other parts of the restaurant took smoke damage as well. The cost of the damages is expected to exceed $300,000, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. The restaurant will be closed for repairs for several days.
