An 85-year-old Mankato woman is dead following a collision with a semi-truck on Highway 14 in Nicollet Monday afternoon. It happened at approximately 1:40 p-m at the intersection with Highway 111. Melvina Aaberg was northbound on Nicollet County Road 23 in a 1997 Saturn and failed to yield to a Mack truck which was eastbound on Highway 14. She was pronounced dead at the scene following the collision. The driver of the semi, 68-year-old Lynn Braun of North Mankato was not hurt. Highway 14 was closed in that area for much of the afternoon while the state patrol investigated the crash.
