A New Ulm man has been sentenced to a year in the Brown County Jail for his role in burglarizing businesses in Evan and Hanska.
23-year-old Anthony Nicholas Geisler was part of a group accused of burglarizing more than 40 businesses and churches throughout southern Minnesota earlier this year, including in Blue Earth, Brown, Nicollet, Sibley, Steele and Waseca Counties.
He and 24-year-old Dustin Patrick Reinhart of Le Sueur and 19-year-old Jacob Spencer Langton of St. Clair were connected to break-ins at churches in Evan, Gibbon and Henderson as well as auto repair shops and other businesses across the local area.
During his sentencing in Brown County Court on Monday, Geisler was also ordered to pay restitution and fined a thousand dollars. The other court cases against him and Reinhart and Langton are still pending.
